The Unscripted TV Skills Fund is investing in a suite of training programmes to address industry skill shortages that have been identified as a priority by the unscripted TV industry through our research and by employers on the Unscripted TV Skills Council and industry working groups.
All training programmes will be listed in the ScreenSkills training and opportunities directory.
Step up to shooting AP
The Unscripted TV Skills Fund’s researcher to shooting AP programme has returned for the third time.
The training aims to help delegates who are already working in unscripted TV expand their understanding and competence in self-shooting, professional, and production skills to make the step up to AP.

Later this year, the Unscripted TV Skills Fund is set to deliver a brand new programme on cutting content in the digital age.
The training aims to give delegates who already have experience in unscripted TV the editing skills needed to cut impactful digital first content, social clips, podcasts and companion content for digital and online platforms.
Developing ideas as brands
Are you looking to expand your career opportunities in unscripted TV development?
Later this year, the Unscripted TV Skills Fund is set to deliver a brand new programme on developing ideas as brands that sell.
The training aims to give delegates who already have experience in unscripted TV an understanding of the Advertiser Funded Programming (AFP) landscape, and an in-depth knowledge of the variety of formats from branded content to visualised podcasts and companion content.
Digital and short form skills
Are you looking to expand your career opportunities in unscripted TV?
Later this year, the Unscripted TV Skills Fund is set to deliver a brand new programme on digital and short form content skills.
The training aims to give delegates who already have experience in unscripted TV an understanding of the ever-growing digital landscape and commissioners and the key points of difference with linear TV production, and the skills to spot trends, repurpose existing content and operate within different workflows.
Edit producing skills for future series producers
Are you looking to take the step up to Series Producer (SP) in unscripted TV but have yet to gain access to an edit?
Later this year, the Unscripted TV Skills Fund Edit Producing (EP) skills for future SPs programme is set to return.
The training aims to equip delegates who already have experience in unscripted TV with the technical principles of the edit, and understanding of workflows, and exposure to AVID, alongside softer skills such as managing stakeholder relationships.
Subject to market conditions, the programme will also include a four-week shadowing placement in an edit for each delegate.
Shooting for Sizzles
Are you looking to expand your career opportunities in unscripted TV?
Later this year, the Unscripted TV Skills Fund is set to deliver a brand new programme on shooting skills for development sizzles.
The training aims to give delegates who already have experience in unscripted TV the skills, nuance and understanding needed to shoot for development sizzles to maximise impact and sell a concept.
